The Andy Taylor Legacy of Leadership Award
The Andy Taylor Award honors an individual who exemplifies excellence in budget and finance administration at UW–Madison. This award celebrates the passion, leadership, integrity, and spirited engagement that Andy Taylor brought to his work and community. It recognizes those who, like Andy, make a lasting impact through their dedication to service, collaboration, and innovation.
Starting in 2027, this award will be presented annually at the Finance@UW conference to a representative in the finance community.
Recipients of the award will be administrators who represent the qualities of outstanding service, dedication, and excellence in the profession.
Outstanding Contributions to Budget and Finance Administration
- Demonstrated excellence in financial stewardship, planning, or analysis
- Innovative approaches to solving complex budgetary or administrative challenges
- Significant impact on campus operations, efficiency, or strategic initiatives
Service Across the UW–Madison or UW System
- Contributions that extend beyond a single unit or department
- Engagement in cross-campus or system-wide initiatives, such as the Administrative Transformation Program or other strategic efforts
Embodiment of Andy Taylor’s Spirit
- Energetic and positive approach to work and relationships
- Passion for UW–Madison and its mission, including support for campus life and traditions (e.g., Badger Athletics)
- Dedication to continuous improvement and making a lasting difference
Leadership and Collaboration
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, or inspire others in the financial or administrative space
- Effective collaboration across departments, units, or system-wide initiatives
- Commitment to building a culture of accountability, transparency, and service
